Meetings for TM Practitioners
We welcome to our meetings all those who have learned TM from a qualified transcendental meditation teacher, whether in the Trust or The Maharishi Foundation. Although WE HAVE NO CONNECTION WITH HIS ORGANISATION, numerous meditators taught by them come to our meetings, retreats and advanced courses. If you have not been taught by one of the Trust's teachers, you must register with our office, and speak to a teacher, to verify your TM instruction details before attending a meeting, or you may be denied access.
Meditators' Meetings
(Sunday afternoons on teaching weekends, at course venue - See below for times)
This is your chance to enjoy meditating in a large group, where the effect will be more powerful than on your own at home. Meetings usually feature a 20-minute meditation and 10-minute group 'check', with a chance to ask questions and also meet and chat with your teacher or others who have been meditating, for anything from one month or thirty years! The greater understanding of meditation that you gradually gain from attending these meetings will greatly enhance your experience and speed your progress.
Meetings are free, but a donation is requested to help with the cost of the venue when a teacher is holding them, or other costs when held by a meditator in their home.

Meetings are a very important aid to our progress as meditators: in three ways:
• Mentally, as our awareness expands it is important that our intellectual understanding also expands so that we feel comfortable with our experiences. Meetings with teachers present, help with this. Where no teacher is present, you are asked not to discuss subjective meditation experiences. Wrong interpretations can be made even by experienced meditators!
• Psychologically, it is uplifting to feel the support and companionship of a group, and to know that you are not the only one meditating in your area!
• Most important of all, is what scientists refer to as "the group dynamics of consciousness".The coherence of individual minds creates a group coherence that helps everyone transcend more deeply and so speeds up our progress as a
result.
Hold Mediators Meetings in your Home
Strengthen your meditation practice - "Create Heaven in your Home!"
These are experiences of two of our regular hosts:
"It's wonderful having meetings here. The depth and power of the silence is greater and the atmosphere builds up over time. It reminds me of the fantastic experience of having Colin teach in the house. Meditators love coming, and have remarked that the deeper meditation experience here is 'food for the soul'. Business visitors recently remarked "What an incredible atmosphere in the house". The regular ritual of meetings keeps me on track, it brings you back to what matters. It becomes like a family meeting, with people linking and supporting each other and the bond is strengthening and reaching out to include ‘stray' meditators in the area who learned years ago."
Sue Webster, Totnes, (Fortnightly meetings)
"I have found these gatherings enormously enjoyable. The power of the group certainly applies, whether it is two or ten or twenty. A great stillness seems to come down on us, and there is absolute silence for the twenty minutes. Everyone feels totally at ease and relaxed, and finds the practice so much easier in a group. Also it is very empowering - we need to do this, and adding the support of each other makes it such a good and pleasant thing to do. Occasionally, following the meditation and a rest afterwards, we share how we felt the practice went, and sometimes air a few problems - or joys - that crop up. We all know that if there are any real problems, then we can phone our teacher for support.
"I really do recommend meeting up with a few friends to meditate together - it doesn't have to take hours. Just the 20 mins and a little longer. To meet for one hour would be fine, with maybe a cup of tea - or not. There is one added bonus which you may not think of and that is the uplifting atmosphere of joy left in the house afterwards. It is well worth doing for that alone!"
